Learn how to make the famous Kreelex fly from the inventor himself, legendary Chuck Kraft. This lure is Kreinik Flash in pure form: simple and effective. The first lure in the video is the Kreelex.

Kreinik Flash is a soft metallic that enables a fly fishing lure to move seamlessly through the water. It comes in basic metallic colors, hi lustre metallic colors, vintage (or antiqued) metallic colors, pearlescent colors, UV colors, and glow-in-the-dark colors.

In this Kreelex lure, Flash in all gold, or a blend of gold and silver, or gold and silver and copper seems to be the winning combination. It's simple yet so potent. Eye-catching for a great catch. Chuck combined "Kreinik" (since it's all Kreinik materials) and "Rolex" to come up with the name — the bright gold made him think of Rolex watches.

Headhunters Fly Shop says it's a staple trout streamer on the Missouri River, South Fork Snake River, Big Hole River, Henrys Fork and other large western trout rivers. Fly Life Magazine says, "Most who fished the Kreelex have found almost every gamefish a willing consumer, like peacock bass, snook, musky, tarpon, largemouth bass, and many more."
