Bargello Tidings Ornament
A beautiful pattern for cross stitching a timeless ornament. [Note: the Trinkets perforated paper shape is no longer available. You can still stitch this design on 18-count Aida, or on 18-count perforated paper, then cut or framed in a circle. If stitching on 14-count, the design will be larger.]
Materials needed:
- Kreinik Very Fine #4 Braid 003V Vintage Red, 017HL White Gold, 4011V Adventure Green, 008 Green, 009 Emerald
- Kreinik Silk Mori 3017 Very Dark Coral
- Tokens & Trifles round ornament — note, this item has been discontinued, you can substitute 18-count white perforated paper
- Tapestry #24 needle
- 4” x 6” piece of Kreinik Treasure Tape™
- Ornament frame (have your framer cut one from gold matboard)
- Kreinik Treasure Tape™ double sided tape
- Misc silk or metallic ribbon or other decoration for top (optional)
Instructions:
Download the PDF chart/instructions below.
- Cross stitch this design centered on your perforated paper. Use one strand of Braid or Silk Mori following the color key.
- When stitching is complete, make a “sandwich” by layering the front of the gold ornament frame on top, followed by your stitched piece, and the gold ornament frame backer.
- Use Treasure Tape™ double-sided tape as the adhesive between layers.
