    Bacon & Swiss Cheese Quiche

Our stitching friend, Sandy Crawford, shares a yummy recipe with us. Serve this delicious quiche for breakfast if you want to awaken the senses!

    Ingredients:
1 Refrigerated Pie Shell for 9-Inch Pie
4 Eggs
1 Cup Half and Half
1/2 Cup Margarine
1/2 Cup Chopped Onion
1 Cup Shredded Swiss Cheese
Bacon Bits (About 1/2 Cup)

Method:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

1.   Place unbaked refrigerated pie shell in 9-inch pie plate.
2.   Add 1 cup of shredded Swiss evenly over pie shell bottom.
3.   Sprinkle 1/2 cup bacon bits on top of cheese.
4.   Set aside.
5.   Saute chopped onion in margarine until onions are tender, but not
      brown, and remove from heat.
6.   In medium bowl, beat eggs and half and half together.
7.   Add cooked onions and margarine to the bowl, stir gently.
8.   Pour over pie crust.
9.   Place pie plate on a cookie sheet.
10.  Bake for 35-40 minutes on middle rack in oven until set,
and pie crust is lightly browned. Toothpick or knife inserted in
      center should come out clean.
